Guy Mezger hits Elite
By
Dave O'Donnell 5 September 2003
It
all started with a phone call yesterday - "Hi Dave, my name's GUY MEZGER" "Wot
the fighter?" " Yeh I was just wandering if there was somewhere that me and my
guys could work out as we are only in London for one day, I checked out your website
and it looks like you guys are up for anything!" With disbelief I took his number
and he said that he would call the following day when he arrived in London. Still
thinking it could be some sort of wind up, I went to sleep with a smile on my
face!!! Low and behold twelve o'clock on the next day, he called as he said he
would! We arranged to pick him up and bring him to the club with the understanding
that he would take the class which he said was no problem. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Six
thirty he walked in our dojo with his two fighters with thunders of applause from
all of our guys, he said he likes what he saw as we all sweating already with
heart beats racing. He said ninety percent of fighting is in conditioning and
working out, as in his early days that's what got him through all of his fights.
He started with take down defence cos we all know guy likes standing up and the
last place he wants to be on the ground. He worked really well with everybody
and the one thing he kept saying that fighting is only a small part of Mixed Martial
arts and you have got to really love it to carry on to be a true martial artist.
That's one thing you can say about Guy Mezger, he is a true Martial Artist. You
could see he really enjoyed teaching. With little to no sleep a couple of hours
sight seeing he couldn't wait to get into a gym and work out. He flowed from technique
to technique in a smooth sort of way, always sating put your own style to what
ever you do cos that's what they do at the Lions Den.
Before
we knew it the night had ended, they were flying out this morning at four am,
with two of his students fighting in Denmark. There's a big chance that in Cage
Rage 5 in February that he will bring fighters over from the Lions Den. All we
need is three game opponents and its on!! He took time with the questions and
answers flown at him and the more you spoke to him you realised that he was a
true gentleman.

Guy
& Dave
We
would like to wish his two students CHRIS BOWLES AND KAMIKOZONO HIRO the best
of luck with the fights in Denmark in the battle of copenhagen on Saturday and
as for Guy - Thanks again for a great evening. From all of the Elite Crew
