Tavern , Essex, 29 february 2004
Darren
Jackson(UK) V Fabrice Degund(France)
Darren
faces fabrice and its a fast pace with the Frenchman whacking kicks to the
body and Jackson returning with a flurry of punches, the fight goes to the floor
where Darren lands in Degunds guard and blasts away at his opponent but the Frenchman
is tough and seems unfazed by this, it gets stood up to continue the fast pace,
where we are guaranteed of this as they are strait into each other like hungry
wolves, Jackson seems to want the clinch and after a lot of knees he gets the
Frenchman to the floor but gets caught in a arm lock
Winner
by arm lock Fabrice Degund 1st round 1.23 sec
Mark
Gaunt(UK) V Jafaar Taetaeteabae(Iran)
Mark
gaunt takes on Jafaar and this fight turns out to be very well matched and highly
entertaining
Both are
at the same level of fighting and both take some heavy shots and the crowd loves
it
Round 2 and
the fighters are in the center of the ring where Jafaar does his unorthodox dance
/fight pose and it confuses gaunt until he gets stuck in with some solid punches
but as the fight goes on Jafaar wears Gaunt down and catches him with some head
kicks and unanswered blows to the face which leaves the ref no choice but to stop
the fight which gaunt appreciates as he was fatigued but showed great heart
Winner
by TKO Jafaar Taetaetaebae 2nd round 2.05 sec
Billy
Harris V Mark chen
Billy
Harris steps into the ring to take on the very experienced mark Chen which turns
out to be a an epic of a battle
Both
are very skilled and composed fighter and start off fast as lightning with Harris
connecting with low leg kicks and Chen returning with one to the head, both hit
the floor and landing Harriss guard where the action slows and the ref restarts
them
The fight starts off
at a furious pace and Chen looks stronger on his feet and Billy is looking better
on the floor going for submissions and sweeps
Round
2. They exchange strikes clinch, go to the ground stand up exchange strikes
back down this time Harris has mount then the back and as the strangle is executed
the go out the ring where the fight is stopped and restarted where Harris gets
the shoulder choke from standing and eventually falls to the floor trying to execute
the submission but Chen defends great and slips out to be greeted by the end of
the round
Round
3
These guys
are mini dynamites and now they decide to box it out for about 1 minute they both
hit each other with excellent punches then clinch where Chen gets the takedown
The ref stops the fight
to check the bloody face of Chen where he is deemed to be OK so their off again
and both hit the floor and land in Billys guard until the blood needs to
be wiped from Chen and checked by the medics
All
is OK and their both going harder than ever and these are gladiators of the true
sense then the round bell sounds leaving it to the judges
Chen

Muradi (Iran) V Jean Marc Laseaux(France)
The
Frenchman comes out but Muradi stays near his corner waits for jean Marc to strike
and throws him to the floor and start his striking from within the French mans
guard, Jean Marc is doing well but Husan is strong with strikes and his wrestling
abilities
Round 2
Husan starts off punching then shoots but Jean Marc sprawls well but the pure
wrestling skills prove to be too much and Husan gets the takedown and end up in
the mount where the French man could have received a great deal of punishment
but because of the skill and experience of Jean marc s corner man/ coach
the towel was thrown in and the fighter was natured in a valuable lesson with
out taking the necessary punishment
Winner
Husan Muradi by TKO 2nd round 1.29 sec
Moise
Rimbon (France) V Mark Epstein(UK)
Moise
Rimbon is set to fight Mark Epstein for the UKMMAC LIGHT HEAVY WEIGHT TITLE
And
this is the next step for Mark and both are looking sharp with their kicks and
have a good bout of exchanges but Moise seems the better grappler and takes Epstein
to the floor where he tries various submissions but to Marks credit he escaped
many and got to his feet
To
give this fight the full credit the fight has to be seen, as it is hard to put
the true value to these two extreme fighters
Eventually
Rimbon secures a Kimura to cause Epstein to tap out in immense pain before his
shoulder broke(?!)
Winner
by kimura Moise Rimbon 1st round 4.50 sec

fight has to be stopped for his safety

Maktar
Gyue(France) V Henrique Santana(Brazil)
Maktar
Gyue against Henrique Santana is one hell of a fight with the Brazilian dropping
the Frenchman with the first punch, but as Gyue hit the floor he regrouped and
the battle was on these fighters are fired up and all guns are a blazing and I
mean blazing
Eventually
the Brazilian gets a shoulder choke on the French fighter and the Brazilian makes
the French fighter tap

by Shoulder Choke Henrique Santana 1st round 3.31 sec
Luiz
Tosta(Brazil) V Robbie Oliver (UK)
Luiz
Tosta From Brazil takes on UKMMAC champion Robbie
Oliver for the LIGHTWEIGHT TITLE and the crowd was electric for this
fight due to the surge of electricity that had been thrusted into the event from
the previous fights
The
crowd is chanting England the mc is BOOMing and the fighters are fuelled
Tosta
is looking for the take down and gets a massive slam and then the fighters are
flat out striking each other and going back and forth in their positions until
Robbie seems to find his bearings and gets the advantage over Tosta, but this
fight is well and evenly matched and was being loved by the audience
Round
2
This is at
the speed of light with Tosta making the clinch after eating a big knee to the
face that would have knocked any other fighter into Rio, but Luiz took this in
his stride and was fighting like a warrior he is, but Oliver was getting the upper
hand more and more until Luiz Tostas corner man threw in the towel
Winner
by TKO towel threw in Robbie Oliver 2nd round 2.31sec
After
this event Robbie said he would not be fighting in May due to his wife having
a baby but promises to be back at the event after which will delight the fans
at the Tavern
Luiz
will be returning to the ring to fight but decided to go into the next weight
category below as he feels he will be the champion in that weight and we at UKMMAC
agree
PS.
Congratulations on the birth of your child Robbie
Paul
Daley V Lee Doski
This
fight is short and Sweet, well sweet for Paul anyway who was getting away from
the clinch that lee had secured but also throwing punches, knees and elbow strikes
to secure a KO at 41 seconds
Winner
by KO Paul Daley 1st round 41 sec
Kuljit
Singh Degun(UK) V Francis Carmont(France)
Kuljit
Singh Degund fights Francis Carmont for the UKMMAC HEAVY WEIGHT TITLE and
Degund came into the ring with an entourage of about 15 traditional dancers and
a drum band, which was enlightening to the crowd and was good to see, as it was
different to the disc jockey music
At
the start both enter cautious which is standard practice for a fighter with experience,
as they are feeling each other out
Both
exchange good strikes but as Kuljit gets the takedown his opponent gets the upper
hand by securing an arm lock from the bottom, which left Kuljit no option than
to tap out otherwise his elbow would break
Winner
by arm bar Francis Carmont 1st round 3.41sec
Philey
Sam (UK) V Bendy Casimir (France)
This
was a quick fight with Casimir getting the take down and blasting away at Sam
until he was stopped by the ref as Philey Sam was not defending good enough

Event
after thoughts: The event was excellent and the venue was packed to the rafters
and the fight were well absorbed by the crowd, and the media led it and hopefully
it will be in some national magazines and widely distributed around the world
as well as the UK
Jessie

had a great night and was surprised at how entertaining it was
We
were sold out prior to the day of the event being opened and our event in May
looks the same as tickets are already selling fast
The
fighters we brilliant and very professional in their business and on the whole
it was an excellent evening
