Colin Sexton

After looking for fighters in the audience and the little crowd nearby the ring I still didn’t found where I our British fighter was. During the break I asked a nice looking girl for the dressing/fighter room for Colin Sexton, she escorted me to a room and opened the door for me. There he stood: a body that is comparable with the body of superman, muscles hard as stone and a tattoo covering the big arms of this British MMA fighter: Colin Sexton. He had to fight Sander Thonhausen that night. Only one coach with him I noticed and I was thinking about Ian Freeman who was training with Bas Rutten for a couple weeks. Colin was ready to fight, straight and confident answers, eyes of a starving lion who was ready to fight for everything. SFUK did an interview with this fighter at the Beverwijk Explosion Show 27th may.

SFUK Holland : Tonight you fight Sander Thonhauser, a striker. What do you think you are going to win on Colin?

Colin Sexton : I am gonna try for KO, if it won’t work out like it want will go for a submisson.

SFUK Holland : Your coach Ian Freeman is not here at the moment, where is he?

Colin Sexton : He couldn’t be here because he went to America to train with Bas Rutten.

SFUK Holland : What is your plan right now?

Colin Sexton : Soon I have got to fight in June and I have to go to America I think for a scheduled fight, I don’t now when.

SFUK Holland : You performed real well at the Russian cagefights, last time you won, is there a chance that you will be back in Russia?

Colin Sexton : Yes thanks, I have been asked again yes.

SFUK Holland : When and who is your opponent?

Colin Sexton : I don’t know the exact date, but I have to fight some guy Roman...........(looks and asks his team mate for the name)...I don’t know his name.

SFUK Holland : Tonight Sander Thonhauser, how do you deal with you pre-fear?

Colin Sexton : I don’t, I am ready to fight. I am comfortable in the ring and the only thing is miss is home.

SFUK Holland : Ian Freeman and Valentijn Overeem fought recently at 2H2H, what do you think of the fight?

Colin Sexton : I don’t think Ian should have been fighting there against Overeem, not at this stage of his career. He didn’t do anything wrong at the time but he shouldn’t be fighting such an upcoming fighter like Overeem!

SFUK Holland : The fight against Bob Schreiber?

Colin Sexton : That was a good fight unfortunately he got cut by his eye! It was a good fight and match up for Ian at the time

SFUK Holland : It was a reopened cut right?

Colin Sexton : Yes, it was an old cut

SFUK Holland : Imagine you fight in the UFC, who would you like to fight?

Colin Sexton : Nobody special, I just hope to fight as much as I can. I fight everybody.

SFUK Holland : Nobody special?

Colin Sexton : There is a number of fighters I would like to fight!

SFUK Holland : Hook ‘n Shoot or IFC, in the future maybe?

Colin Sexton : No, I don’t think the money is there!

At this moment I heard the ring speaker, so I knew I had to go back to the ring. And had no time to take a picture.

SFUK Holland : Thanks Colin I have to go back to the ring now!

Colin Sexton : Thank you to mate, cheers!

SFUK Holland : Good luck tonight!

Colin Sexton : Thanks!

The match went to Sander Thonhauser due medical intervention, Colin got cut by his eye. Although he did a good match with 100% action!
