2h2h sem schilt interview : SFUK's mixed martial arts reports

Sem Schilt is very well known in the world of MMA. With his giant stature and his brutal and bone cracking KO’s he is one of the favourites in the heavyweight division. In PRIDE and UFC he fights these days. Akira Shoij, Pete Williams and Satake were all not capable against the riot coming to them in the ring. Sem Schilt, a nice and polite guy. No big talks and he is just doing his job as he says.

SFUK Holland : How is you PRIDE career going Sem?

Sem Schilt : Good haha.

SFUK Holland : Are there any upcoming shows were we can see you in action again?

Sem Schilt : I hope in the end of April, in Japan!

SFUK Holland : Didn’t 2H2H asked you for their show?

Sem Schilt : No, not this time.

SFUK Holland : Does it bother you, you are not fighting here tonight?

Sem Schilt : No, rather like to fight in Japan.

SFUK Holland : Why Japan?

Sem Schilt : The atmosphere, the fans, just the whole thing!

SFUK Holland : And it pays better?

Sem Schilt : Well uhm….yes it does. But that is not the biggest factor for fighting.

SFUK Holland : How is the show tonight here at 2H2H Sem?

Sem Schilt : I like it! Good fights and great crowd!

SFUK Holland : What was the best fight of the evening?

Sem Schilt : Paul Cahoon Vs Joop Kasteel. The groundwork, the striking, the whole thing. Everything was in it. But especially the groundwork. It went over and over, that was cool to see.

SFUK Holland : What do you think of the ground rule here at 2H2H. I mean in Pride you can stick as long as it takes on the ground. Here if the there is inactivity on the ground you have to stand up. Well?

Sem Schilt : I think it is a rule for Dutch people. The crowd wants to see stand up. Like in Japan there fond of the ground fighting. For the crowd it is a good rule. For some fighters it can be advantage, for some disadvantage.

SFUK Holland : In Japan - are people recognizing you on the streets?

Sem Schilt : Sometimes yes.

SFUK Holland : How are your team mates doing in PRIDE?

Sem Schilt : There are doing all right too.

SFUK Holland : What fighter is an example to you?

Sem Schilt : Sakuraba is a perfect example, Wanderlei Silva is a very aggressive fighter, I like that.

SFUK Holland : Anything for the fans?
