See also Maximize Your Training - similar type of book, but containing totally contrasting training methodology.

This a a huge book - full of charts and graphs. It's not an easy read. It's something you need serious study time on.

Hence the delay in review!

Cool:

  • Cheap!
  • A good intro into many training methods

Uncool:

  • Long hard slog
  • Expect minimal gains
  • Only brushes on each topic (which is only to be expected in this type of book)

Summary:

For those of us that train recreationally then this book is as useful as chocolate underpants, I mean, teapots and nowhere near as interesting. For elite athletes looking for the edge over the competition, then maybe it's a place to start. However this book is best for sport academics, coaches and exercise nerds.
