This book is aimed at
people who have had shoulder related injuries, currently
have them, or have never had such an injury but do a
lot of sports that involve the shoulders.
The book starts out like
a biology lesson, giving you correct terminology of
what tendons are and ligaments; how the shoulder is
made up, how the muscles work and finally where the
rotator cuff is located and what is actually is. With
each description there is a simple illustrative diagram
to get a clear idea of what they are talking about,
also they provide small exercises for you to do to understand
the limitations of your shoulder and how it can become
damaged.
In my opinion the book
covers everything you need to know regarding this area.
After going through examples and descriptions of the
different types of shoulder injuries you can get, it
equally goes through the different types of exercises
you should do to a) prevent b) rehabilitate. More importantly
a training program has been devised for specific needs,
E.g. Rehab workouts, Strengthen
workouts, Stretching workouts, regularity of workouts
etc.
The best thing about the
book is the illustrations of exercises, not only does
it show how to do the exercises, but also shows how
not to do them, explaining how it can cause more damage
than good. Additionally advice is given on weight training
for the shoulder. The down side to the facts of the
book is the knowledge of how easily you can mess your
shoulder up plus finding out after 40 50 yrs old
your rotator cuff will naturally deteriorate which will
cause restriction in movement.
I have added a couple
of images for you to get an idea of what to expect.

Recommendation,
if you grapple, get kicked, use your arms to block,
stop, lift or break fall in sports then this book is
invaluable. Physiotherapy cost approx £30 for an hour
which I think is a rip off when you will be told exactly
what this book tells you.
Reading time: for
those that will find this type of reading boring, you
can skip a lot of stuff out and go straight to the exercise
programs which can be done in a few hours.

Incentive? It takes
at least 3 months for what is considered a minor shoulder
injury to heal, then you have to strengthen the shoulder
for it to heal properly; so you are looking at 6 months
of injury time.
